How fun! Our festive Cranberry and Grey color palette from Cami + Erik’s Wedding is featured today on Project Wedding! Both on the homepage and their Blog! The florals are to die for by Kathe Hayden! Photography by Josh Elliott Studios. For more amazing pictures of this special wedding visit our portfolio here.

From the Bride, Cami: Our wedding was, honestly, the PERFECT day! The weather was gorgeous, in the high 70s. We had the love and support of 180 family members and friends. Because Erik and I have been dating for so long, this is something we wanted to incorporate throughout the day. I made sure to bring his letterman’s jacket, which I used to proudly wear back in the day! My mom made a memory table with photos of us throughout the years. We both saved our corsages and boutonnieres from high school dances, which were displayed on the table.
Erik’s mom made his boutonniere and included a piece of lace from her wedding dress. My mom made my bouquet and included photos of our three grandmothers that have passed away. Also, the bridal purse I used was the very same one my mom used at her wedding! There were a lot of personal details.
There are two things that happened on my wedding day that I will NEVER forget. First, Erik and I chose to not have a first look. However, we wanted to pray together beforehand without seeing each other. We did this by holding hands around the corner of a large pillar. Second, I’ll always remember when we saw each other for the first time during our ceremony. It was such a sweet, emotional moment for the two of us. I will never forget Erik’s reaction and the photos of him seeing me are the most precious, priceless thing!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Vanessa and Justin! Vanessa is such a sweetheart, and was a complete joy to work with; you can tell how much Justin and Vanessa just adore each other. They have such an awesome story! Can’t believe how fast our time went together!
From Vanessa: “We have known each other since we were 13 or 14. Justin was really good friends with one of my cousin’s in Ventura (I grew up in Orange County). We would see each other when I visited Ventura, and Justin even came to Rosarito with our families on a trip when we were 18. Justin joined the Navy in 2004, just about as I was graduating college. We didn’t see each other for about 5 years. Then in November 2008, I was in Ventura for a family event. Afterwards, my cousin and his friend wanted to go out for drinks. Reluctantly, I went along. Little did I know that they had also invited Justin to meet us there. Justin and I saw each other for the first time in years, and the rest in history.”
We were so honored that Vanessa had this to say about us:
“I was so impressed with how Britt handled everything on the day of. Every time I had a concern, she was one step ahead of me. She was great. And I LOVED the bouquets and all the flowers that you and Britt arranged. They were perfect.”
We wish Vanessa and Justin so much love and happiness together! It was such a pleasure to be a part of this special day!

Cami + Erik! What can we say? We are still speechless days later…We cannot begin to describe what an absolute joy it was to be a part of this wedding. There is so much obvious love and adoration between Cami and Erik, they simply worship each other. Seeing all of that love on Saturday was a privilege and help making it all come together was an honor. Cami was beyond excited for this day to come, and tears just ran down my face and my smile was as big as it could possibly get as Cami walked down the aisle… she never took her eyes off Erik. This was such a fun wedding filled with tons of personal touches and detail. Thank you Cami and Erik for letting Sugar Branch Events be apart of this day! Josh Elliott Photography captured every moment… here are just a few teaser photos. More to come! Click here to visit Josh’s blog!

Danielle and Mike! Such a creative and loving couple to work with! They were so excited about their wedding and worked really hard to put everything together. Their wedding was held at the Newland Barn in Huntington Beach on August 13th and we were privileged to do all of their floral design. Danielle wanted a very rustic and romantic look with soft pinks, baby’s breath bouquets and unique wildflowers. For her tables, she rented over 100 vintage glasses, vases, silver pitchers, colored glass dishes, candle sticks, porcelain urns and mason jars. She envisioned lots of soft colors, bunches of wheat, dinner plate dahlias, solid aster, hypericum berries, and lots of other wildflower choices. Hugh Forte, the amazing photographer has shared a few pictures of our work — we are still waiting on the complete wedding! But for now…enjoy!

Mika & Brian came to us back in January to help plan and coordinate a backyard Summer reception for all of their closest friends and family. Naturally, we were completely swept up by Mika’s bubbly and incredibly sweet personality and knew she and Brian would be a ton of fun to work with. We were right! Mika & Brian tied the knot at the local city hall in July and then took a fabulous trip to Hawaii to celebrate.
We came in and transformed their backyard into a chic Summer soiree! We added chartreuse green and white lanterns in varying sizes, bistro lighting throughout the yard, high cocktail tables with brightly colored floral arrangements, staggered seating and not to mention some fabulous vendors! Love at First Bite Catering provided the absolutely delicious food for the 80 guests. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed passed appetizers of California rolls with wasabi and soy sauce served in an Asian soup spoon, curry walnut chicken bouchee cups, and endive chicken wraps with peanut sauce. For dinner the buffet consisted of spinach and mandarin orange salad with strawberries and sliced almonds, Kahlua pork lau sliders with tropical coleslaw and grilled pineapple wedges and fried rice. Then for dessert, Morsel’s Bakery Truck delighted everyone with an assortment of heavenly cupcakes and cream puffs! DJ David played laid back Summer tunes like Jack Johnson and Colbie Caillat, then picked it up when guests wanted to get down with the fun glow sticks later in the evening. Brian, being the incredible handy man that he is, created a “party” size JENGA for guests to play with during the party! It looked like so much fun!
All-in-all, a fun night for family and friends to celebrate Mika & Brian’s union and a great way to end the Summer festivities! The event was captured beautifully by Jon Prentice Photography. Thanks Mika & Brian for trusting us to make this a great event for you both!

Firstly, what a pleasure it was working with this amazingly adorable couple! We were introduced to Whitney through a mutual good friend and LOVED her from the beginning! She has such incredible vision and knew without a shadow of a doubt how she wanted everything to look and feel for their wedding. She was looking for someone to do all of her florals who shareed her same vision, since she was doing virtually everything else herself! Whitney collected probably over 100 special vintage decor items including containers, fishing baskets, tackle boxes, blue mason jars, and the list goes on! (Check out our previous post on all her containers here. ) She called her theme “Country Couture” (which we went giddy over!) and pictured all-white flowers in the containers she collected. Her bridesmaids bouquets were inspired by a picture she saw on Green Wedding Shoes, and everything else she trusted us to design. Growing up in Idaho, Whitney knew she wanted white peonies as her feature flower as they reminded her of home.
It was her absolute dream and goal for her Americana 4th of July-themed wedding to be featured on Green Wedding Shoes (since that was such a source of inspiration for her during her planning). And Viola! She got her wish! Check out her beautiful feature here.
Thank you to Ashley from Ashley Rose Photography for her stunning pictures! And a BIG thank you to Whitney + Justin for trusting us to help make their day even more beautiful.
