Boudoir by Rani Lu! The Ultimate Wedding Gift…

January 16, 2012

Boudoir photography is extremely popular, and it’s no wonder why! Who wouldn’t want the opportunity to be pampered with full hair and makeup, slip into something sexy and play supermodel for a few hours? Boudoir by Rani Lu Photography offers women the ultimate Boudoir photography experience at her private studio in San Clemente. Not only do you get the opportunity to feel sexy and empowered but you also have a great gift to surprise your boyfriend, husband, or husband-to-be by showing them a side of you they wouldn’t normally see! A great way to surprise your man before your wedding or for a special occasion gift (Valentine’s day is coming up!).

Our very own Britt recently had a boudoir session with Rani Lu Photography and she was DYING to share her amazing experience:  “She made me feel very comfortable and it was the most fun I’ve had in a while.  The incredible hair and makeup by Beauty and the Beach gives you confidence you need and Rani’s photos really bring out the best in you.  She knows how to shoot the perfect angles and in a way that flatters any body.  Her studio is a one-stop-shop for the session – I even had champagne and donuts!  A boudoir shoot with Rani Lu and Beauty and the Beach is like being a Victoria’s Secret model for a day.  The worst part about it was having to wash off my hair and makeup afterward cause it was a birthday surprise for my husband!  EVERY girl should do this at least once in her life.  It’s incredibly fun and, as my dad would say, “you’ll never be this young or this thin again.”

These are of course, the tame versions from Britt’s session, but for more sexy examples of Rani’s work visit her site! Rani Lu Photography. Contact Rani to take advantage of her Valentine’s Day Mini Sessions!

Venues that Sparkle: Serra Plaza, San Juan Capistrano

January 11, 2012

We get pretty excited when a new venue pops up here in Orange County! Especially when the venue is newly restored and open for weddings! We love being able to introduce our clients in search of the perfect venue to a brand new option, one that  may be a little more unique than others and one where they have not already been to a handful of friends’ weddings.  :) The first in our Venues that Sparkle blog series is Serra Plaza; a glorious new venue for weddings and events.  Serra Plaza is nestled in the beautiful historic district of San Juan Capistrano and boasts a substantial courtyard and patio which can accommodate up to 450 guests! The brand new structure was designed to reflect the architecture of surrounding buildings and neighborhood and exudes the same old-world-California charm as its close-by Spanish predecessor, the Mission San Juan .

They only book one wedding/event a day so you are sure to have a uniquely special celebration. This venue is perfect for Summer months and for couples looking to have a glamorous evening in the open air and under the stars.  The courtyard is a blank slate, with so many design and layout possibilities. Serra Plaza has a list of fantastic preferred vendors to choose from. The courtyard fountain provides a calming background sound of continuous trickling water, adding to the tranquil nature of the venue. And we can’t forget the Bridal Suite! A spacious and luxurious sanctuary where every bride dreams of getting ready.

Here are just a few highlights from The Serra Plaza Events Blog.

Have a Sweet Christmas! Love, Sugar Branch Events

December 25th, 2011

Every year we send out Holiday Cards to clients past and present, vendors, family, and friends just as something old fashioned and fun! This year we wanted to do a retro-”I-Love-Lucy”-50′s-kitchen-baking-theme and so the amazingly talented Stephanie Trachy of Stephanie Ann Photography snapped some awesome pics from our little shoot. We had a blast in the retro kitchen with our cute 50′s dresses and Christmas aprons! Then the uber fabulous Amy from Dandelion Creative Studios designed the graphics for the cards. We were really excited with how they turned out. We spliced it together for digital use but the pic on the left was the front of the card and the inside of the card is on the right.

Happy Holidays everyone!

{Angie + Jose} Los Coyotes Wedding | Floral Design

December 14th, 2011

We had the pleasure of working with Angie on designing all the florals for her November wedding at Los Coyotes Country Club. Angie and her mom were two of the nicest people we have ever met. They were so loving and welcoming from the moment we met them, and continued to embrace us as more than just a vendor, but as friends. (They even made us these phenomenal peanut butter chocolate cake balls!) It was truly a joy to get to know them in the last few months before Angie + Jose’s wedding and we wish them all the best!

Despite the heavy rain on their wedding day, Angie still had the most amazing attitude and disposition. It takes a seriously kind and understanding person to smile through the rain on her wedding day — we commend her!! The absolutely beautiful images were captured by Brooke Photography & Design, and we thank her for sharing them with us.

Here are a few images from their special day.

SBE Featured: Project Wedding

December 5th, 2011

How fun! Our festive Cranberry and Grey color palette from Cami + Erik’s Wedding is featured today on Project Wedding! Both on the homepage and their Blog! The florals are to die for by Kathe Hayden! Photography by Josh Elliott Studios. For more amazing pictures of this special wedding visit our portfolio here.

From the Bride, Cami: Our wedding was, honestly, the PERFECT day! The weather was gorgeous, in the high 70s. We had the love and support of 180 family members and friends.  Because Erik and I have been dating for so long, this is something we wanted to incorporate throughout the day. I made sure to bring his letterman’s jacket, which I used to proudly wear back in the day!  My mom made a memory table with photos of us throughout the years. We both saved our corsages and boutonnieres from high school dances, which were displayed on the table.

Erik’s mom made his boutonniere and included a piece of lace from her wedding dress. My mom made my bouquet and included photos of our three grandmothers that have passed away.  Also, the bridal purse I used was the very same one my mom used at her wedding! There were a lot of personal details.

There are two things that happened on my wedding day that I will NEVER forget. First, Erik and I chose to not have a first look. However, we wanted to pray together beforehand without seeing each other. We did this by holding hands around the corner of a large pillar.  Second, I’ll always remember when we saw each other for the first time during our ceremony. It was such a sweet, emotional moment for the two of us. I will never forget Erik’s reaction and the photos of him seeing me are the most precious, priceless thing!

{Amy + Ethan} Palm Springs Wedding | Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway & Movie Colony Hotel

November 16, 2011

We are really excited to be featured today on Wedding Chicks for Amy + Ethan’s absolutely fabulous retro Palm Springs wedding that took place Oct. 1st! Big thanks to Stephanie Ann Photography for capturing the true essence of the day and all of their special details. Talk about a seriously fun and laid back couple! We worked with Amy for over a year while she diligently planned every last detail of their wedding. She truly did not leave one detail un-designed. Being a graphic artist really helps when it comes to designing and creating all the paper goods for your wedding. Amy did the invitations herself;  all the special frames, place cards, dessert table etc -  she thought of everything! There were many a late night with the paper cutter, but she really saved on those printing costs! The ceremony took place at the Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway, a Historical home in Palm Springs where Elvis and Priscilla Presley spent the first year they were married. The reception followed at The Movie Colony Hotel, one of our favorite retro Palm Springs getaway spots. Sugar Branch Events did all of the flowers and coordination and had an absolute blast! Our favorite moment was their first look! Stephanie captured their personalities so perfectly with those pictures – it was just so ‘them’ and so special. Jennifer’s Fine Foods and Catering provided SUPER delicious food! Phil Shane was the singing cover master as he got everyone up on their feet dancing the whole night to some great rock tunes! He even changed into an Elvis tribute sparkly jacket half-way through the evening which was awesome.  Dough-a-Deer made all the late-night mini donut wedding favors (packaging designed by Amy of course!) which were a big hit. The evening concluded with a fun sparkler send-off as the newlyweds drove away in their Mini Cooper! Thank you Amy + Ethan for including us in your special day, it was such a pleasure to be a part of it all! Congratulations!

{Vanessa + Justin} Pierpont Inn Wedding

October 12th, 2011

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Vanessa and Justin! Vanessa is such a sweetheart, and was a complete joy to work with; you can tell how much Justin and Vanessa just adore each other. They have such an awesome story! Can’t believe how fast our time went together!

From Vanessa: “We have known each other since we were 13 or 14. Justin was really good friends with one of my cousin’s in Ventura (I grew up in Orange County). We would see each other when I visited Ventura, and Justin even came to Rosarito with our families on a trip when we were 18. Justin joined the Navy in 2004, just about as I was graduating college. We didn’t see each other for about 5 years. Then in November 2008, I was in Ventura for a family event. Afterwards, my cousin and his friend wanted to go out for drinks. Reluctantly, I went along. Little did I know that they had also invited Justin to meet us there. Justin and I saw each other for the first time in years, and the rest in history.”

We were so honored that Vanessa had this to say about us:

“I was so impressed with how Britt handled everything on the day of.  Every time I had a concern, she was one step ahead of me.  She was great.  And I LOVED the bouquets and all the flowers that you and Britt arranged.  They were perfect.”

We wish Vanessa and Justin so much love and happiness together! It was such a pleasure to be a part of this special day!
